  1. These Terms & Conditions
    1. These are the terms and conditions on which we operate our competitions.
    2. Please read these terms carefully before you submit your competition entry to us. These terms tell you who we are, how we will run the competition and other important information. If you think that there is a mistake in these terms, please contact us to discuss.
  2. Information about us
    1. We are 1in400 Ltd operating solely through 1in400.com, a company registered in England and Wales. Our company registration number is 11780883 and our registered office is at Unit 19, Notley farm, Long Crendon, Buckinghamshire, HP18 9ER (we, us, our).  Our trading address is as per our registered office.
  3. How to contact us
    1. You can contact us by telephoning our customer service team at 07917 867653 or by e-mailing us at sales@1in400.com, or writing to us at the address found in 2.1.
    2. If we have to contact you we will do so by telephone or by writing to you at the email address or postal address you provided to us in your competition entry form.
    3. “Writing” includes emails. When we use the words “writing” or “written” in these terms, this includes emails.
  4. How to enter A COMPETITION
    1. Each competition has a minimum number of entrants and maximum per person which can vary dependant on the competition and entry value, details of which are specified in the competition details section for the relevant competition, however we normally limit entries to 10 per individual, per competition.  A countdown timer will count down the time left for entries to the competition. If the total number of entrants to the competition is less than the minimum number of entrants specified in the competition details when the first countdown timer counts down towards zero we may reset the countdown timer by adding two calendar weeks to the closing date . We reserve the right to perform such a reset up to a maximum of four times per competition. Each competition will close when either the minimum number of entries to the competition have been received or when the fourth countdown timer counts down to zero (whichever occurs first) (Closing Date)
    2. All competition entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified.
    3. To enter the competition:
      1. To enter on line, you first must register and account with 1in400 Ltd, clear instructions are available on our website homepage. Once registered (or logged in for existing customers), enter the competition online, choose your own ‘lucky numbers’, answer the skill based question correctly and then confirm your participation by paying the entry fee and submitting the online entry form provided on www.1in400.com by the Closing Date; or
      2. Send your entry to us by first or second class post, as set out in condition 5 below.  Entries sent by post must arrive at our office on or before the Closing Date. Postal entries will be dealt with and administered every Monday and processed in the same way as website entries.
    4. We will not accept:
      1. responsibility for competition entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any postal failure, equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; or
      2. proof of posting or transmission as proof of receipt of entry to the competition.
    5. We accept no responsibility for entries not successfully completed due to a technical fault, technical malfunction, computer hardware or software failure, satellite network or server failure of any kind or if for any reason a technical interruption, fault or site failure occurs when purchasing online, we do not take any responsibility for incomplete purchases and any incomplete purchases will not be considered valid for entry into the prize competition.  We accept no responsibility for any purchases which are not complete for any reason
    6. By submitting a competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.

    8. The responses to the competition question submitted to the competition entries will be judged internally by 1in400 Ltd, but proof of correct responses will be made readily available. The decision of 1in400 Ltd  (acting reasonably) will be final.
    9. We will send confirmation of correct answers to said questions to anyone who writes within one month after the Closing Date of the competition requesting details of such.
    10. All competition entries received by the Closing Date which correctly answer the question for the competition will be entered into a prize draw.
    11. A winner will be chosen by random draw performed using a Google random number generator (or by some other computer process), using the entry numbers confirmed by e-mail to the entrant.  The random draw may be performed live on Facebook, Instagram, or some other social media site determined by us. Details of when the random draw for each competition is going be performed will be posted on our website promptly (within 48 hours) following the Closing Date for the competition.
  5. free entry route
    1. If you would like to enter a competition via our free postal route, you must send your entry, on a postcard, by first or second class post to 1in400 Ltd, Unit 19, Notley Farm, Long Crendon, Buckinghamshire, HP18 9ER.  Your entry must include full details of the competition you wish to enter, your answer to the question of the relevant competition, together with your full name, postal address, email address and a contract telephone number. Your entry must arrive at our office by the Monday prior to the Closing Date. Postal entries are strictly limited to one entry per household, per competition. Draw numbers cannot be chosen when entering by post, draw numbers will be allocated as part of the entry administration process and will be e-mailed to the e-mail address supplied within the entry.
  6. Eligibility
    1. Each competition is only open to all residents in the UK, aged 18 years or over, except:
      1. employees of us or our holding or subsidiary companies;
      2. employees of agents or suppliers of us or our holding or subsidiary companies, who are professionally connected with the competition or its administration; or
      3. members of the immediate families(spouse and/or children) or households of (a) and (b) above.
    2. In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any prize you may win. We may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition.
    3. We will not accept competition entries that are:
      1. automatically generated by computer;
      2. completed by third parties or in bulk;
      3. illegible, have been altered, reconstructed, forged or tampered with;
      4. photocopies and not originals; or
      5. incomplete.
    4. For each competition there is a limit of 10 entries per person, unless specifically stated within each competition. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed.
    5. We reserve all rights to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the prize competition.
    6. Competition entries cannot be returned.
  7. The prize
    1. The prize depends on whether the total number of entrants to the competition is equal to the minimum number of entrants.
    2. Where the total number of entrants to the competition is equal to the minimum number of entrants:
      1. details of each prize (and this may include timescales or other conditions for use or redemption of each prize) are set out in the competition details section for the relevant competition;
      2. prizes are subject to availability. We reserve the right to substitute the prize with a prize of equal or greater value; and
      3. we reserve the right to replace the prize with an alternative prize of equal or greater value if circumstances beyond our control make it necessary to do so.
    3. Where the total number of entrants to the competition is less than the minimum number of entrants the prize will be a cash prize equal to 70% of the total funds received by us from entrants to the competition on date of completion.  
    4. If the total number of entrants is less than the minimum number of entrants but the difference is insignificant, we may, at our absolute discretion, decide to award the prize in accordance with condition 7.2.
    5. The prize is not negotiable or transferable.
    6. In order to claim the prize you must contact us.  
    7. Where the prize is a car, the winner must provide a valid driving licence and proof of appropriate insurance on collection of the prize and is responsible for taxing and insurance the car as required by law.
    8. 1in400 Ltd offer and imply absolutely no guarantee or warranty on any prizes awarded, other than manufacturer’s warranties, if transferable, on new goods. Goods can be inspected at our registered office, by appointment only, prior to the competition end date.
  8. Winners
    1. Our decision is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
    2. We will contact the winner personally as soon as practicable after the Announcement Date, using the telephone number or email address provided with the competition entry. We will not amend any contact information once the competition entry form has been submitted.
    3. The winner of the competition will be announced in Facebook, Instagram and on our website.
    4. Unless otherwise required by applicable data protection laws, the winner for each competition can be viewed on our website at www.1in400.com for up 60 days after the competition.
    5. Due to the nature of the competition there will only be one winner of each competition.
  9. Claiming the prize
    1. If you are the winner of the prize, we will contact you using the contact details you have given us to notify you that you have won a prize and you will have 14 days from the Announcement Date to claim the prize by personally attending our offices. If you do not claim the prize by this date, your claim will become invalid. Small item prizes and prizes that can be delivered electronically will be delivered within 14 days of Announcement Date.
    2. The prize may not be claimed by a third party on your behalf without our prior written agreement.
    3. We will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winner. If the winner cannot be contacted or is not available, or has provided us with inaccurate contact details, or has not claimed their prize within 14 days of the Announcement Date, you will forfeit the prize and any goods and services that form the prize will remain owned by us.
    4. We do not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize.
    5. All prize winners agree, as a condition of entry, to agree to be photographed, filmed and quoted for future 1in400 Ltd promotional material. This will include videos, photographs and quotations being utilised, as reasonably seen fit by 1in400 Ltd, on the www.1in400.com website, on any social media promotional material produced by us and within marketing e-mails generated by us.
  10. Limitation of liability
    1. We do not exclude or limit in any way our liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so.
    2. Insofar as we are permitted by law, we, our agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss or damage, occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by our negligence or the negligence of our agents or distributors or employees.
  11. Data protection and publicity

We will only process your personal information as set out in our Privacy Policy.

  1. General
    1. If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, we may, at our sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.
    2. We reserve the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so.  If it becomes necessary to void or cancel the prize competition, we will either refund any sum you have paid in advance to enter the competition or we may agree with you that you may use the credit to enter another prize competition.
    3. These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
